I bought a road grader at an auction that wouldn"t run i have changed the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and i get more of a reaction out of it but it just pops and thats it i have good fuel flow and have adjusted the valves any other ideas im running out.

If it has set for a while, try taking the spark plugs out and give each cylinder 2 or 3 squirts of oil and put the plugs back in and try starting. Helps the compression. If that doesn't work, take the plugs out and spray some WD 40 in each cylinder and try starting. Chris

it ran i guess when we go it but after it got warmed up it would only run on choke and the whole time it ran you could only smell gas so i rebuilt the carb and it helped a little bit but not alot even after i got it set right but since we gave it a tune up it hasn"t wanted to start all it does is pops like it wants too

What model grader do you have? What engine power is it? I have a "D" model and it is powered by a wd45 engine. Tried to replace the Dist. cap the other day, it wouldnt set right and just popped like you described. There was no tang to be placed in the dust cover notch at the dist.Put old cap back on and runs just great. CC
