Allis Chalmers transmission

Hi , I need a little bit of help , I have a 1943 Allis Chalmers model C and the manual calls for a sae 20W for the transmission and I was wondering if I could use a sae 20 instead ? And could I use it for the gear box as well ?
I don't really know what to do here and I would appreciate any help , I bought the tractor with my dad and he passed away a few years ago and I'm trying to get it fixed up like we'd planned on doing together but never got the chance , so I'm trying really hard not to mess anything up.

Use a 90 weight gear oil unless it has hydraulics, then use the 20 weight engine oil or easier and as good a universal tractor lube which is a hydraulic/gear/ power
steering lube for newer tractors that sometimes use one reservoir for all of those systems. It will be fine. The transmission. rear end, hydraulics if you have them, and
PTO are all part of the same gear case.

elcome to the forum, I notice you joined today. This tractor project for you will be very special since it started out with your Dad. After you've done a few posts you'll be able to post pictures, would be fun to see pictures of your '43 C.

I'd use a universal hy trans. Got that in my boys 48 C.
