Allis

And a search of UNL Digital collections (link 2) turns up Nebraska tests for Allis Chalmers 20-35E, 18-30, 12-20, 18-30 (different test), and 6-12. They also have some very good ad scans for the 20-35.

Any rate, good luck to you, I think the early AC's are very neat, though I don't think I've ever seen one in person. (Then again, I'm only 19, and I some times wonder if any AC's from the green AC days were even sent to AZ, my home state)

As you will see when you look at the second link for the Nebraska tests, all of those report a Kingston Model L carb. A quick google search indicates the model T ford used the same? If what ever model you have used a Kingston, and that was used on the T, you hopefully will have an easier (and less expensive) time finding a carb!

David thanks for the info. This is the first ever green allis that ive seen in person, guess most of them got melted down for scrap yrs ago

I have a oil pan for a 27 20-35. The 1927 and 28"s had different oil pans than the newer 20-35,25-40,and A"s. The oil pump was in the pan. You would have a oil manifold that connects to the pan and runs down the right hand side of the block. send me a email at [email protected] if your still looking. Matt

You have the second 1928 model 20-35 E tractor built. There are quite a few differnces between a 1927 and 1928. I have several of them, including 1927,1928 and 1929. The 25-40 came out in 1930 and was built into 1936.

The 1927 has rear fenders with a single, rounded reinforcing rib at the outer edge of the fender. The later ones have two more squared off ribs on both the inner and outer edges of the fenders. The transmission cover on a '27 is a weldment. The later ones are stamped steel. The platform on a '27 is steel with a crosshatch pattern in the steel, while the later ones are just plain, smooth steel. The '27 has a serial number plate on the dash. The later ones have the serial number stamped in to the top of the main case. The carburators are different. The '27's have a more elaborate throttle control mechanism. The '27's have a curved exhaust pipe. The later ones are straight. There are other differences too. The '27 is really almost a unique model from the later ones. There were less than 1800 '27 models built. I wonder if you early '28 has any '27 features? Hope this helps some.
