Allis G history question

Is this just an old wive's tale? I remember reading somewhere, maybe twenty years ago, that at one point AC had built so many G's that they couldn't get rid of them and if a dealer ordered two WDs, they had to take a G and that they were still being found in crates at old dealerships at that time.

I heard a similar story years ago. I can't confirm it, but there must be some truth to it. They built more G"s that actual sales numbers wound up being in the early going, because I never heard it was a WD-45 thing, it was a WD era event. G's were built seven years from 1948 thru 1955 with 30,000 units being built. It was probably half of what sales had predicted.

Not sure did hear some of this stuff was available for a few years after production stopped. Another good example is the case DC. To me the G was a specialty item and by 55 The quest was on for bigger farms and more power. Now for another note I know after Indian motorcycle shut down in 53 there were new ones in dealerships for a few years! Not talking about the imported Enfield's here.
