Been asking questions here on and n off for the past 6 months or so. Thought I would post a picture of my 44 Model A. It's all repaired and painted now. I still have to do rear wheels. Just need to put it togethor now. Grill pieces are just there for photo.

Yeah. It was one of those typical GOOD DEALS that turned out to be not so good.. Truth be know it should have been melted down into razor blades after I found out how much it was just abused and worn out. But, I bowed my neck and just dug into it from one end to the other. You know the drill, cylinder head, transmission, differential, axle bearings, one replacement axle, brakes . And oh yeah, after all that you just have to paint it !. I wanted something to do, and I got it. If I knew then what I know now I would have deere to a little better starting choice to fix up. But at the end of it I guess it dont matter at this point. I have to say there have been a few folks on this JD forum that have been extremely helpfull. I would name them but I would be afraid I would leave one or two out. Thanks alot guys, I will post pictures when I get it done.

Yup un-styled and early styled A's especially hand starts. Just something about one that starts with a couple times rolled over by hand.

Oh Im so jealous..

4 years ago I bought a 44 A just to keep it from getting scrapped.
The tractor went threw a tornado in 1985, that was the last time it ran.
Mine looks just like yours minus the complete engine , gonvenor ^ fan
shaft. Been stripped down to absolutly nothing at one time. This year
this summer, some how some way he's going to pop again & move under it's
power. Even the mis matched tire match mine, except mine tractor has one
piece stamped steel rear wheels.

BTW... My 300.00 dollar model A.

I have just tick over 2250.00 in it...
Where I got screwed up was the block wasn't useable
niether was the head. But I had good used ones.
The machine work cost me a bunble, all valves & seats
90 over pistons from Ebay were Cheap Boreing & flattening
up all the flanges so the gaskets will seal broke
threw & beyound what I had planned.

Mounted all the sheet metal today. Little things like throttle linkage cotter pins, grease zerks,, floor pan and seat, guages into the instrument panel ( if you could call it that), pulled some painter tape off , steering wheel etc. Got plenty of little things yet. I have only done about half dozen of these, so I am pretty new at it. Every time I get done I say no more but come winter I figure I need something to do. I will post pictures later this week with it all togethor.

Me too I got a 500 dollar 48A with the rear wheels needs finished everything is done. I got over 2000 in mine.
