altenator amp

looking to put an altenator on my bn. just wondering if 65 amps is enough for an electronic ignition or should i go bigger?

I"d like to see the Mega Turbo Blaster Blitzburg Zap Master ignition system that would use 1/4 of the power a 65 amp alternator makes.

Did you consider that an alternator putting out 65 amps, 14 volts operating at 80% efficiency will consume approximately 1.5 HP from the engine.

A normal ignition runs at approximately 3 amps - double that and you will have a pretty good spark, eh.
