Converting 49 to 12v- got all the new parts but cant seem to make the top "L" bracket to line-up w/ hdblt holes. they are the right spacing but it is smack up againts the wiring tube. It,s like the holes are 1" plus too far back. Am I the only one W/ this problem or is it a chinaman mistake? Ordered from this site & they never had this come up. Ansxious to get baby going.

I had the same problem but was able to push the spark plug wiring tube over to clear the bracket. The tube head bolt mounting brackets are no longer perpendicular to the block but the tube does not hit the alternator mounting bracket.

1) Why do you need/want the wiring tube?

2) here are some pics of mine from the kit I got on the site. Mine is a front mount 1949 8n.
