AM radio static

AM is a lot more prone to static than FM.

Try adjusting the antenna trimmer. It can possibly
cut some of the static to an acceptable level.

Still can't find your place on satellite view.

You're close to Wilton, right? East of Muscatine on 92 to county road B, I think it's 289th street, turn south on the blacktop at the Pine Bluff Methodist Church, first road to the right(west), 2nd place on the left on the curve. 50X80 metal quonset building.

I put an older fender mount radio on my gas Oliver 1655.The static is bad at all engine speeds. Is there anything I can add to cut the static? In the 60’s and 70’s radios came with a round resistor? That you cut the coil wire and screwed it into the wire to cut the static. Are these still available? You can hear the radio but the static is annoying! I tried adding a condenser to the coil but it didn’t help.View attachment 78638View attachment 78639

If your static is in the DC voltage a pi filter should work.
If your static is from the spark plugs you will need resistor wires.

Resistor plugs , resistor wires or wound suppression wires .
Alternators sometimes need a capacitor .
No idea what the tinkering with the exterior capacitor on the coil is supposed to accomplish .
Moving the radio or the Antenna a few inches can make a difference .
