Amazon Generic batterys for Millwaukee

Mark,
I thought I was cheap, but you are cheap too.
You can buy an 18v to 20v adapter for $10 or two for $18

Compatible with Dewalt 18V to 20V Adapter, DCA1820 Adapter Compatible with Dewalt 20V MAX Lithium Battery

I have yet to have a knock off 20v battery catch on fire. I have many good 18v DeWalt tools I power with 5 amp 20v dewalt.

Bargain from Amazon 7a knockoffs

4Pack 7.0Ah 20V DCB200 Li-ion Battery Replacement for Dewalt 20V Battery Compatible with Dewalt 20V $81 That's about $20 for a 7 amp knock-off

Adapter Compatible with Dewalt 20V Max Battery to Replacement for Milwaukee M-18 18V Battery, DW18ML Adapter Compatible with Milwaukee 18V Cordless Power Tools (Adapter only) $10

Yes, I suppose I could, but then I'd still need to buy two 20V batteries. Buying a pair of 18V knockoff batteries is still the cheapest solution. I don't own any other Dewalt cordless tools, nor do I expect to.

All these over sized batteries and adapters sure make for a heavy tool to lug around
Still lighter than a corded tool, and the 100's of feet of extension cord and/or the generator needed to power it.

You corded tool guys need to get your heads out of the 1990's. Things have advanced since those garbage 9.6V NiCd powered Makita drills.

You're like my teenage son, I'm only 53 but will drag a cord around any day of the week instead of chasing after batteries. If you want to get the heavy work done you grab a 110V tool. The battery tools have there place, lighter not always, unless you're building doll houses.

I bought a generic/Chinese 6AH 40V battery for my Roybi chainsaw. When it arrived I put it on my Ryobi charger, the lights turned red and battery wouldn't power the saw. I contacted Amazon, they said not to return because the seller would not respond and refunded my $80. I sat the battery aside and forgot about it for a few months. Then stumbled onto it and decided to try it again, put it on the charger, red light illuminated again. I put it in the saw, squeezed the trigger and saw ran this time.
That was 2 years ago, still have that battery and it works OK. Wonder what happened?
BTW, I really like my 40V Ryobi chainsaw, when OEM 4AH battery runs down, I am too, so we all go to the house for a recharge.

No issues with the Makita LXT batteries and they work nicely in adapters on Ryobi tools as well. One thing I've noted is that you should not buy extra batteries separately, if you find a tool bundle with a new tool you can use the batteries and extra charger that come with it end up costing a tiny fraction of what just a pair of extra batteries would cost, e.g. $750 for a kit with brushless drill, impact driver, sawzall, circular saw, light, dual charger and two 5ah LXT batts.

They ship new batteries with a little too low voltage. I had same thing happen to me so I charged it using a dumb power supply only a
little bit and then put it on Milwaukee charger and it finished charging ok. It works good.

Santa brought me four 8 amp 20v DeWalt aftermarket batteries for Christmas.
Two batteries came with zero volts and wouldn't take a charge. Santa is returning them to Amazon. No hassle from Amazon.
I stopped buying from E-bay because the seller wants you to pay for return shipping.

My money's on a bad connection. Probably if you'd tried the charger and the saw one more time the first time around, it would have polished up the contact enough to work.

First time I charged the 8.0, it would charge to a certain point, then flash from green to red, back and forth. Looked that up on YouTube, and someone said to take the palm of your hand, and slap the back of the battery, jamming it into the charger tighter. It worked ! Now I'll spray some NO - Ox into the charger terminal.

My 12 Ah was wore out and I didn't want to pay $250 for a new one so I took it apart and the label said Samsung 40T 21700. I bought 15
of the same batteries at about $5 apiece and some nickel strip. It took way too much time and I don't think it was worth it. At least I know
it has the best batteries in it.

FWIW. I’ve had good luck with a knock off brand of li batteries for my cordless tools the brand is Waitley….less price than dewalt or Milwaukee but so far ???? Seem to work as well
