Amine 2-4-d

just burned down some fields with roundup power max and amine 24D. 24d was 1.6 ozs to gallon roundup was 3oz to gallon on sunday. has been raining on and off since early monday morning. Not worried about burn down, concern is with if planting(drill) buckwheat seed this coming sunday would be too soon? drill depth will be 1>1.5" for seed.

I have no idea on the wait time for 2-4d burndown time as I am conventional tillage. My gut says with the rain it won't be a problem. But I think most people are gonna have a hard time answering your question because typically chemical rates are expressed in volume per acre. For example: 1pt of 2-4d per acre plus 1qt Roundup per acre.

I think you probably already know this cause your 1.6 and 3oz above is close to 1pt 24d and 1qtRU @10gpa. Just letting you know that you may get harrassed about the way you expressed it!! Have a great evening!!

yes it was applied at 10 GPA Mix. Rainfall was 1" past 36 hours since applied. Read where 2-4-D residue still might have effect for up to 14 days. Figure, germination of seed will take about 7-14 days. that makes it a 14 day period from application to germination.

We use 24d in a preplant burndown here in Iowa for soybeans.

We wait 7 days to plant beans and get along fine.

With rain in between burndown and planting 7 days should be fine.

If beans can take it buck wheat should.

Thank You for all the input. Just have a small bramble type prickers growing in field(neglected over the years) and knew RU wouldn't do much to control them.
