what works best for the weights on the front for the 10 ft rule.and is red iron better than regular angle... and on the 10 ft rule can the bracket not be past 10 ft or are the end of the weights that cant exceed 10 ft. and can you just pull with a stock drawbar w/ a clevis???

i use 4x1/2 or 4x3/8 flat stock depending on how heavy i will go with the tractor that 10foot rule means there can be nothing past 10' from the center of the rear axle i usually like to make a bracket where the weights hang sideways some places will not let you pull with a clevis it would help to know what kind of tractor you have i might have some pics for ya!

I use 1 1/2 x 3 x 1/8" rectangular tubing. It is very strong, looks good and only weighs 3 lbs. per foot. It has held up 1000 lbs. of front weight for me before on a 70 John Deere. Mike
