The step brother to the Crown Victoria and the Victoria Hardtop was the 2 and 4 door sedan version called the Town Sedan.
My wife's uncle had the pretty 2 door version with 312 "Thunderbird" V-8, a 4 Barrel and thru the bumper duals.
He was nice enough to let my wife and I take it on our honeymoon in 1961.
It was still like new and boy did I think I was hot stuff when I was behind the wheel!!
I wish I had a better picture.

One of my all time favorites!

I had a 56 Victoria 2door HDTP white over emerald green, while I was going to community college. It spun a rod bearing, and I couldn't afford to repair it and pay tuition too, had to let it go.

My dad bought a 56 ford 2 door sedan when I was 15. It was a 312 4 barrel. That thing would scoot! I was in driver Ed and couldn't wait to drive it. One night we were cruising in it, with my gf and my older sister driving. We stopped to make a left turn into the Pizza joint and WHAM ,,, we got rear ended my a big old Merc! Totaled!!!! My dad got paid and kept the car so my brother , cousin and I stripped it down and raced it in the stock class at the local dirt trac. Held the track record that summer! FUN times!!!

One of my favorite Fords...the hard top version. Rich classmate had one while I only had to borrow mother's '51 custom 2 door....I wasssssssss envious to say the least.

Remembering back then the Y-8 Ford had too long of a stroke to compete with the little 265 Chevy V8 out in 1955. That car and the .55 and '57, especially the '57 Fairlane 500 2 or 4 door hardtop, were some of the most beautiful Fords. Back then you could tell the make, body style and year model easily........when you had humans designing cars. Today, with computers optimizing the designs, they all look the same and you can't tell one from the other.......but the smaller cars are easier to park at the hospital where there are seemingly too few parking spots.
