Another Tiller Question

I know the 8N and NAA are too fast in low gear for a tiller, but would one of the slightly newer ones with the 5-speed work since first is quite a bit lower?

Better, but still quite fast. According to Tractordata (which we know is ALWAYS correct!) an 8N 1st gear is 3.7 mph & a 960 is 2.2. The SOS tranny gets down to .6 mph!

Looking at the owner's manual for my 4000, it lists 1.8 MPH at 540 PTO speed in First. 3 in 2nd. 4 in 3rd 5.5 in 4 and 12 in 5th.
You can change the speed by changing the rear tire size. Smaller tires = Slower speed. LCG models are examples of that.

So I looked at Land Pride's website for their tillers, and it says typical ground speed to run their tillers is 2-3 MPH.
In that case it should work fine.
