Another tool find...

These were at a sale earlier this week where I bought a couple of tool boxes. Not 100% of what all they are used for but the straight end is pointed like a drift and the other end has the little shoe on it. Biggest two are 19.5 inches to give you some scale. All are Snap-On and have some age on them.

I think those are called rolling wedge bars, they work slick for certain pry jobs or hole line ups.

good deal! i have one snap on like that . they are called ladies slipper bars. i least thats what i have ever hear them called.

Those would have come in handy a couple months back when I was doing a brake job on the plow truck.

You sure do find lots of goodies in your area!

My brother used to use them in press repair work for prying and alignment. I have a couple of the bigger ones like that . I use them to pry out wheel seals when I have to change them. don't have to drive them out with the bearing when you can't get to the seal to drive it out. I've had them for many years. I think mine are OTC brand. Would like to have some of those hex shaped ones like on the left side of the picture in Hobo's tools there. They have a different end where they are bent back some then rounded like a circle to a end for getting under things and prying out or up with. They come in several sizes even in a 2or 3 foot long model.

I went to automotive tech school decades ago and one of these was on the required tool list. The name on the list was a rolling pry bar. Not used every day, but a fantastic tool when needed.

I have a couple, handy tool, I have heard them called race bars, can be use to pry a bearing race out of a housing. When I google race bar nothing shows up, rolling pry bar is the name most common.

Snap On calls them rolling head bars.

Think the price hidden by the date is $205.75 2010 price list.

Snap On heel bars missing the small one...I just bought a new set off the truck...around $300 on sale....I've owned a set of those since the 1980's

Dave H (MI),

They are called rolling head bars. I called them ladies fingers. I use them a lot doing frame work. Aligning x members and spring brackets. I have one bigger then the one on the picture, and a 4 in. one,

Guido.

I have those and also a couple that have an adjustable 'foot'. In other words, you can change the angle of the foot in relation to the bar. Very handy for seal removal. Mark.
