Another try on JD plow.

This brings up a question. Has anyone come out with a book for JD plows that covers the history, models, etc.?

Mike
Yes, several years ago when I was planning such a book, Dave Wolfe beat me to it and published a pretty thorough book covering most of the plows John Deere made for tractors. I am pleased to see the archives referral to my answer to a similar question several years back, it covers a number of common questions.

I looked at my JD 55 parts book this morning. The plow in question is definitely a JD 55 plow made between 1938 and 1945. The parts book shows a picture of that plow with the bar in the angle position that is shown in the original posted picture. In 1945 to 1960, the plow book shows the bar in the straight position as shown in some of the other photos, like the one Texas Jim posted. I have a 55 plow with straight bar made after 1945. Al
