Doc, I'll bet that it was two separate machines.

I was a t&d maker and tool designer. That would take three operations. Blank it flat, form the ends into a U then close the tubes. Can't figure out what it's for. Try the numbers in Google.

A Pattern Wheel Sub Drum for a Kniting machine looks nothing like that.

We were thinking a long the same lines thou.

I was thinking something from a Jacquard loom or player piano type thing.
