antique planter wire

Looking for about 80-100 ft. of antique planter wire. Don't know a lot about the different types and probably not too particular.
Any lead would be appreciated.

I don't know what is desirable but old type telephone wire is about twelve gauge galvanized steel and very hard to bend.

So how would you make the knots in it every 36", 38" 40" or 42" that the check planters used and it was all pieces to make those lengths with 40" being the most common and to do checking the knot spacing has to match the row spacing. Think I got rid of all of mine. Also it is made so that it should be able to be disconceted or reconnected at any knot for different field lengths.

It might also be called "planter check row wire". I know what it looks like, but haven't seen any of it for several years.

The wire from any make should work but the real that it is mounted on is model specific. Are you wanting to use it or just to display a planter? 100 ft. would let you plant a row about 50' long 150' for row about 100' long 200' about 150'.

Don't care much about the reel, just need the wire. Probably at least 100 ft. Don't know much about the wire except the different manufacturers are not all tied the same. The bigger the knot the better for me. Want to use it as part of a rustic handrail I'm building. Always trying to use antique stuff in unique and useful ways.[/url]
