Was in a box of tools I bought at a garage sale.

Do you know what it is and are just checking the knowledge base or are you trying to actually get someone to tell you what it is? An approximate diameter would help. Any numbers on the paper label?

well, it says 12 volts. The insulated side is hot and the other side is ground. likely some kind of buzzer or bell but put some power to it and see what it does.

Looks like it was bought from a Minneapolis surplus stuff store called Ax Man.

Hook up a light in series. I betch'a it's a flasher.

Use the allen head screw to adjust tone.

I did not know what it was beforehand, but buzzer is correct. I hooked it up to 12V and it creates a very annoying sound.

Play with the Allen head screw. It changes the pitch or tone whichever you wish to call it.
