Anyone bale with ford 2000

I have run a IH 440 behind a Fordson Super Dexta, but you have to go slow.B 47 would suit the Dexta better.Only problem we had with the IH 440 was on the hills it tends to push the tractor so I prefer to use the Ford 4000 instead.Cheers TSG.

hatrookie,

I have a 1973 Ford 2000 tractor that I use to bale with my New Holland 273 baler. It runs fine. I normally bale in second gear. I do not tow a wagon on the back of the baler. I think that would be too much, but just dropping the bales onto the ground works fine.

Good luck,

If it's a diesel 8 speed it will be fine. If it's anything less than an 8 speed you may have groundspeed issues... for the power you have. A poorly tuned gas engine will also complicate matters. Beyond that, keep in mind that the 68 is a small baler meant for that size tractor. Should be fine... again, as someone said... dropping them on the ground. Hauling a wagon will get dicey on hills. Probably better to NOT go there.
