Anyone know 2000 F-650s?

Owner had this truck a couple years. During this time, he had a clutch installed.

The first time I saw this truck was on the side of the road with a no clutch release condition. Owner said slave cylinder was bad and was to meet me at the site with a new, pre-filled hydraulic system. Turns out that the hydraulic system was intact, only the ball had broken off the push rod.

My question, what is missing from this picture? They have this 1/2" slot in the clutch lever for a 5/16 " stud. Owner said this has broken before. There was just enough stud for a flat washer on either side of the lever and the stud bottomed out in the slot. Got it home ok, but how to fix it right? Thanks, Fritz Forgot to mention I just pulled the pushrod out of the new slave just to get it off the road.
