AR Governor

Well folks, I have my 1952 back up and running. Thanks to all on this forum who have provided assistance. But I am having one small problem. It appears the governor is not functioning properly. The tractor starts and runs well, but the governor does not seem to want to do its thing and limit the engine speed. Easy solution has been to just use the throttle lever and limit it manually but it would be nice to set the governor to do that itself.

I cannot seem to find any instructions on the governor operation and how to adjust it. I'm also wondering if we misplaced a spring or something which is causing this? Not sure.

Any help out there? Thanks
Shannon

I had that problem with my AR. Turned out the governor wasn't getting any oil. It oils thru a little hole behind where the oil pressure
line comes out. The hole was plugged up. Cleaned out the hole and now it works great.

Awesome info. Can you share a bit more detail? Do you have to open up the governor to get to that hole?

Thanks

Even an I&T manual covers it well. Sounds like the governor rod is not set properly. The length must be so that the governor arm at full forward and
throttle at wide open should be 1/2 hole short of the rod entering the hole. Then set the max high idle with the bolt and locknut on the steering
shaft support.

Adjust it here.
