Arctic Cat engine update

500cc fan cooled Spirit ran cool in the Pantera all weekend putting around on the trails. One problem: After longer open throttle cruising, it would cut out and surge. I would assume fuel pump is not keeping up ...this may contribute to being a tad lean on top eh?

Sidenote: Did you know there was an Arctic Cat lawnmower?

Mowers,snowblowers and minibikes,built by Leisure Time Products,Thief River Falls,MN,were supposed to keep Cat dealers eatin over the summer,never really caught on.

Couple things wrong jet depending on elevation.
dirty carb.
if sled is bogging off line on top of carb are
two screw slots one is plain one has a hole in
it remove one with hole clean out hole on carb

Mowers were walk behinds,imported from Germany?Had Sachs? wankel engine.(pic)
"Everybody"was makin mini bikes at the time,over 50 mfgrs in US alone.Don't recall forshure but believe ACs had a small motorcycle engine/trans,(pics)(maybe Benelli,Puch?)
Rarest old Cat has gotta be their mid 60s"Cub" trailbike for hunters/trappers etc(pic)
Now in the ATV biz,they also sell a Cat branded trail mower,unk who builds it

And their early sleds were also futted w/front wheels.Believe that monster motor is an 8hp Kohler.Frame/body etc was all steel,as was track,except for strip of belting running down the center.Generally had hi/lo/rev tranny like garden tractors of the era.Top speed was prolly around 18-20mph,but they would literally go anywhere

My bad,there were a total of 73 Cub trailbikes made,so the rarest Cat would prolly be the"1000 4x4" with only 14 ever built

It's a real rocket off the line. But I plan on cleaning it out, then checking my pump diaphrams.
