Are these nose sections interchangeable?

I have a late model Farmall 140 that has a nose section that looks like this; http://www.external_link/photos/forum_1828.jpg The nose is pretty bent up and rusted.


I was given an older style nose section for a 140 that looks like this;

This nose appears to have much thicker metal and looks like if I fixed it up it would last longer than the thin metal they used to build the nose on the tractor now.

My question, are they interchangeable? Does it really mater if the nose is kept the same?

The website in your first picture link was censored by the forum software. I'll assume it's the later style grille, given the second picture is the 1959-1963 style grille.

I believe the grille is the only real difference between the 1963 and 1964 versions of the tractor. The older grille should fit just fine.

It won't be "proper" to IH purists, but if you don't care, does it really matter what others think?
