When I was 12 I got my first farming job, bailing hay on a 1966 830. It was only six years old then. I spent quite some time working for a very nice farmer and running that 830. Fast forward 46 years later. I found that same tractor for sale in an ag lot. I bought it because it was just like the one I drove as a kid. Low and behold later I found out it was the exact tractor i drove as a kid. I was so happy to get it back. I really like my old 830 and what good memories. Nick

The first Case tractor I ever rember seeing was about 1957 and was a grey row crop with a single front wheel, guessing it was an RC1956. In about the 80's great uncle when he died had If I can remember corrctly a small orange wide front. Only saw it at his estate sale. He did have a case pull type combine and 2 others in neighbor hood. Never heard of a dealer in my area untill after Case was no longer. Don't remember seeing any Case tractors untill I started going to tractor shows in the late 80,s. Then would only have been possibly the V, S and D tractors. Cannot say as I have ever seen any of the later tractors, possibly, This would have been in the 90's. just one setting by the road. After Case was gone I found out a Father-Son dealership had been in my hometown and were just a repair shop then. Don't know if it still exist. probably not, the son would be in his 70's now. Just slihjtly younger than me and am now 80. Name was Berlet from Wapakonets, Oh.

An SC Case and later VAC Case next a Case 300 and a DC replaced the SC. Later a 530 was added a and then a Comfort King 730 by then I was working off the farm younger brothers were driving, Dad continued farming with CASE and trading or buying till he owned a 1070 new.

We had gas 630 for couple of years in mid 70's. I really liked that tractor. Clocked with a pickup it did 27 mph and friends David Brown 990 did 15 mph.

Yep ,,. Its not hard to keep up with All those eager Tractor drivers ,,. I had 2 of my 5 sisters that were pretty good running tractor ,, And Then my other 2 brothers were johnny on the spot ,,. Our Farm was a happening place when I was in hi school ,We were not well to do , But . We always had spending money . , We were taught to be very good stewards of the land and managers of time, Money , resources of all kinds. And to respect life and to pull our own weight. . A good neighbor spoke of my parents, saying Every one the children started at the bottom and wound up in the front office running things like a pro, or buying the company. And thats the truth , God , Forgive Me for boasting .

As a kid I loved being around my uncle neighbors during threshing with a DC running a Case threshing machine and baleing with a Case wire hand tie baler. Fortunately never had to ride on the baler doing the tieing,

My Uncle Dave owned the orange Case threshing machine and my Dad owned the D standard that powered it. The pair threshed and the D also filled silo at three farms when I was a kid.

We had a DC, 400, 800com gas, and a 900 when I was small, my younger brother would plow with the 900 and a 4 bottom and I would use the 800 and 3 bottom mounted. Then we had a neighbor with a 1030, I plowed a lot with that because his son only liked the 1850. Now I own a 830 Comfort King com. Full circle.
