Is ASV tracked vehicle and better or worse than the major brands of tracked skidsteers ?

ASV - All Season Vehicle - is the original builder of tracked skidsteers. CAT bought the patent so they could copy it. Yes, they're as good as any on the market in my experience.

ASV got a bad rap for undercarriage problems, I was disappointed when I had to replace the boggie bearings at 1000 hrs. Added some Lucas oil in the axle tubes and still going 2000 hrs later.
Rebuilding the under carriage is costly but so is the under carriage on other track machines. Rubber tracks don't like big rocks, broken concrete or rebar.
That said ASV has the highest weight lifting capacity,highest pump flow, best ride and most ground clearance (14") of any other tracked skid loader in the industry.
I have a 06 RC85, I use it for composting and cleaning out the bedding in our poultry barns, I've also used it to clear ground with exception of trees over 6" dia, cleaned out 3 ponds and dozens of other jobs on the farm.
I have smooth, heavy tooth, and high capacity buckets, stump grapple bucket, pallet forks, round bale spear, hyd auger and brush grapple rake, hyd rotary mower is on the to get list for some of my steeper hillside pastures. This machine gets more hrs per year than most of my tractors

ASV and Cat had a partnership where ASV provided undercarriages for Cat loaders and Cat provided Perkins engines and Cat hydraulics for ASV machines.
Terex bought ASV around 2008 or 9 and marketed them under the Terex brand name, shortly after the entire machine was redesigned and I know nothing about them but I do like the looks of newer track system.
I only wish I'd gotten a RC100 with 2 speed tracks and power quick attach.

The down side to ASV in my area is dealer support.
Cat denies any of the parts being theirs.
Terex doesn't want to support the older Cat components.
I get most of my replacement parts from Track Loader Parts on line.

Any rubber track machine doesn't do well on wet slippery surfaces, they will spinout and slid.
If your going to be working on slippery surfaces, in large (3" or bigger) loose rock, or in demolition get a rubber tired machine and put steel tracks on it.
