Atlanta rain

News reports locally say that 4 days of rain will keep Atlanta, GA from having the driest year on record. Driest year there was 1954 when 31.8 inches fell.

Some reports say one of Atlanta's water problems is that the water system's pipes are old and leaky.

I was surprised to hear about all the water problems down south. When the News showed it here. I pointed it out to my wife.
Was glad I was not living there.

I read some articles on the problem down there. We had a similar problem in "05 and "06 but this year has been stellar.

Seems part of the problem is that the Corps. releases a lot of water to keep some marine breeding grounds down river alive. Being sarcastic here, seems marine life farms are more important than humans.

Hey man, thanks. Real stupid you know. What do you do with 5 million people in the region without water? Great big problem. We were seriously looking at the alternatives here in '06. Not a fun deal. If the marine critters have to go to be restocked later, so be it.

I lost all my fish (farm ponds dried up) which I have raised for the last 20 years in the droughts I mentioned. Today, there are new critters in there replacing the old and for the big ones, I just go to the local lakes and catch legal replacements.

I even had a bass (at about 5 lbs) that I named spot because on his back had a patch of about an inch square that was lighter than everything else around it. People name their dogs spot! I named a bass. Whadda deal.
