Atlas 40v Chainsaw

I'm looking at the HF Atlas 40v chainsaw. I need a saw for trim work and small pieces to cut up. Usually about 4-6 inches in diameter. Has anyone had any experience with these? Battery charge life and battery life is a concern as well. I have several gas saws and tired of maintenance, gas problems, etc.

I've got a 40/80 with an 18 inch bar. Love it. I've cut some pretty big stuff with it. Plenty of battery life. You'll be amazed at what it'll cut and how fast.

Atlas 40v 2.5 amp replacement battery $60,
Atlas 40v 5 amp replacement $110.
All batteries sooner or later will need replaced.
$22,000 to replace Tesla battery.

Before you buy anything battery powered, ask yourself one question:
Is it worth the replacement battery??

Not sure, Rigid tools are lifetime when purchased at Home depot and registered.
So is the warranty a Home depot store warranty or Rigid warranty? I don't know.

I paid $100 for my 12 inch dewalt

It uses 20v dewalt 5 amp dewalt battery, which I use the same battery on all my tools.
I can buy 2 6 amp aftermarket batteries for the price of a dewalt battery.
Use adapters on all my tools so I can use the same battery.

Buying anything from HF that will eventually need any type of consumable or repair parts would be a deal killer for me.

Chances are if you ever needed a battery, charger, bar, sprocket, anything, you will be met with a blank stare and directed to the door!

The battery and charger are sold seperate with that saw anyway. If there's any concern, just buy a second battery when (you) buy the saw. Not having to deal with a gas motor is worth whatever it costs.

been running oregon battery products for several years doing ok for me the self sharp chain on saw really like that

May want to check it out... Reviews on the Atlas stuff runs about 50-50 positive negative. Ignore the kids on there, they do get annoying.

Myself, based on past experience with HF cordless stuff (this was ages ago) would not buy one.
With the exception of my 19.2 Craftsman stuff that I can still get generic batteries for, I tend to go major name brand on cordless tools.

FWIW

You can also get an adapter for 19.2v craftsman to 20v dewalt.
Ebay and slow boat from china.

For those who can't find an adapter, I'll show you how to make one to use a 20v dewalt battery.

I'm a one battery person. I use 20v dewalt on all my tools , black and decker, milwaukee, 18v dewalt.

I may go the adapter route when/if my generic Craftsman batteries die, but for now I've still got 5-6 good lithium batteries to fit.

And some of the adapters I just don't like. Got Dewalt at work, using the adapter to use the 20v batteries. The extra length on the handle from the adapter just drives me nuts. And I have to remember to remove the battery from the adapter or it'll drain. Little things, but an annoyance.

My adapters never discharge a battery. Nothing there to discharge a battery.

You may have an adapter with a usb charging port.

I bought one and can't say enough good things about it. I can cut a load of firewood on one battery charge (Toyota Pickup) light weight quiet. I took the bar off my old Craftsman, and it fit perfectly. Right Saw at the right price

I bought the Bauer 10 inch. I have two batteries, big and small, and the charger for other tools. Got it on sale for 64 bucks. Sure works good for limbs and small stuff. I was impressed with the little thing.
