can anyone explain how you attach pictures in the body of your post?

You need to select one of photo services. I use tinypic.com/ and its free and requires less typing. You need your pictures on 'My Documents"
and any of the photo services will automatically take you there when you click on "Browse". Don't have your pictures too big. Select your picture and for one picture place the picture web site in the "Optional Image URL". Don't use any symbols like these [ ] when posting. Hal
