attachments for mower conditioner to widen swath

This seems like something that should have been thought of a long time ago. NH is introducing a fin attachment for the swath gate to spread out the swath on disc mower conditioners, and the concept should work on sickle mower conditioners as well. Read about it here:

Anyone have experience with trying to make something like this? How well do you think it will work?

My 10 year old Pottinger disc mower conditioner has them. The previous NH489 sickle type when set wide didn't leave any bare ground in grass hay.

The pottinger is good, you can aim them to the left about 10" and completely fill the field leaving only one tire track through the cut forage(inside tire rides in the 10" clean spot.)
