Aumann's Pre-1930 auction today. The Case Disker brought $17,850!
I figured it'd go between $500 and $1,000. What am I missing?

Wow! Big price on that one. Looks like it would take a pretty big horse to pull it. Is it from the 30s - 40s or earlier that steam would have pulled it??

the pictures are a bit grainy, but my best guess is that it read a 87A disc plow, my books say it was introduced around 1931, by 1936 the disc scrapers were standard equipment, I cannot tell they have been removed or if they never were installed it also is missing optional wheel pie weights which help with the draft on a hard pull, it would look real good behind a $2000 case L tractor

Those are the items I found that the person bought, he bid on more items and I may have not found them all, as soon as that manual went over $500 I made sure he paid for it

Plow weighs 3750 lbs and with 7 discs in the ground it only turns over 65 inches whereas a 7 bottom 14 inch moldboard type plow would be close to 98 inches

It shows it as a 31. Oddly, that is a time after steam, and even the big crossmotors. The L was the biggest tractor of Case at the time. But a 65" cut may be comparable to a 4-16 plow at 64". If this was built by Case plow works, it could have been intended for any tractor on the market I suppose.
