Axle Trumpet Studs

Does anybody know where I can find some new mounting studs for bolting on the rear axle trumpet? I messed up the threads on one and need to
replace it. I realize I can just use a 7/16" bolt but studs are generally stronger than a coarse thread bolt.
I've looked on here, nnalert, and mcmaster carr already but no luck.

Thanks

A GOOD auto parts store should be able to get them for you but you may need to buy more than one.

A not so good auto parts store will not want to be bothered.

Those studs are 7/16-14 on one end and 7/16-20 on the other They are about 1 7/8" long and were zink. Do you have a fastener store near you? Give them a call. If you are going to go the bolt route, you need to match the threads per inch of the differential housing. I would think a grade 5 would be strong enough. Good luck.

I've looked on here, just 8n's, and mcmaster carr already but no luck.

Over the years Ford used both studs and cap screws. Differences in strength are so small as to be meaningless in this application. I would not think twice about using cap screws. Less expensive and far easier to source.

The difference in strength between studs and cap screws is so small as to be inconsequential. Just use cap screws - less expensive and far easier to source.
