B brake latch issue

I have limited movement in my spline and have found it impossible to both push the pedal and reach down to unlatch the brake locks on my model B. Applying them is not an issue because I can flip the latches over then hit the brakes afterward. Been trying to figure out a way to flip them without bending over and coming up empty. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Might try drilling a hole in the latch near the end and attaching a string that is long enough to not interfere with getting on or off the tractor.

I bent the end of a long screw driver into a hook or L. I still need to bend over some, but it works great for me, especially with bulky winter clothing.
I fashioned a holder out of a short piece of abs slipped over the power trol leaver.

I’ve seen one with a return spring that you kind of push down with your foot and heel to apply. Then to release don’t push the heel down. It was mounted to the platform with some holes drilled in it so that might be something you don’t want to do

These are not mine. I borrowed the pics from a FB post. This guy builds these for many models of two cylinders. You do everything with your foot.
