B brake shoes

I have an early styled B and the brake shoe frames are bad on one side. They are pitted and one is bent from a broken spring.I can find complete shoes for a late model B serial 201000 and up. Will they fit the older tractor?I know they have more rivets in the linings , but I don't know if they are the same size or if they mount the same way.

Checked the [b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]John Deere Parts Catalog PC330[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0] on page 80.

Notice that the Roller(Key 9), Cam(Key 11), Spring(Key 12), Adjusting Pin(Key 13), Adjusting Screw(Key 16), and Pedal Shaft(Key 19) are the same for all Model B tractors.

It is probably a safe bet that the only difference in the Brake Shoe(Key 6) is the number of rivet holes.

They should be the same size and install the same way.

The photo below shows the 8 rivet brake shoes on "Uncle Earl" our 39 Model B.

Hope this helps.
