I am reassembling the engine on my B after machine shop work. When I went to install the front and rear seal
plates/cross braces to the block, I noticed that they both are sitting higher than the sides of the block. I installed
them down as far as they would go with a block of wood and hammer, yet they are sitting proud. Im worried that the
oil pan gasket as well as the oil pan wont mate very well at all. They are completely down to the little gaskets they
sit on. Has anyone experienced this before and is there a solution?
