B JD first reduction question

Where the litle 2 bolt cover goes on first reduction gear cover is i guess the input shaft for transmission how tight do you tighten the nut on that little input shaft? thanks

I would go to 50-60 foot pounds and then tighten to next useable cotter pin hole.

I think that's too much. Be careful as the threads aren't much there. It just needs to be good and snug maybe 30 then next hole.
