B powerblock?

(quoted from post at 09:17:25 12/02/09) Was there ever a powerblock made for the B? how can it be identified?

1. It says "Power Block" on top between the water manifold and crankcase.
2. No petcocks (unless someone added them, and then they will be all the way to the front)
3. It doesn't look like a JD block
4. The (5-1) fits the 39-46 year tractors
5. The (5-2) fits the 47-52 years
6. The (5-3) fits the Model 50

Ryaninks,

Go to http://jd2cylservice.com/ (Duane Larsons site, may he rest in peace.)

Then scroll down and under the heading : Duane Larson's Workshops from Gathering of the Green

You will see a link to a .pdf file called 2006 Aftermarket Equipment for Tractors:

Starting on page 55 of that document is a lot of information on the history of Power Blocks.

I stumbled across it one day when I was looking for nothing in particular. Great site with lots of accumulated knowledge. Duane was the first guy to answer a wheel question for me when I first tried this forum!
