I tried to post this before so if it is a duplicated I apologize.

I am starting into a IH B414 project and have a question about the fuel system. There is a line that goes from the tank to the mechanical fuel pump ( makes sense) . Then there is a line that is from the output of the fuel pump that goes toward the carb and is connected to what i this is a fuel filter ( it is metal in lieu of plastic but has the "shape". The filter is one leg of a "T" . The next leg of the "T" has a fitting that lets the needle slide back and forth. the needle movement is horizontal ( I am used to vertical movement) . the last leg of the the "T" has a pancake looking device that looks like a pressure regulator.

My question is how to determine how tight the fitting that houses the needle valve gets determined. If it is tight it takes all the movement of the needle away and close fuel flow. Then , how is the pressure regulator adjusted ..is it just to by ear to make it run well?

Thanks for all help!

Parts catalog show one fuel pump and line diagram, and two different carburetors.

See anything here that looks like what you have?

Not really but I need to check the model number of the Zenith carb that is on it. Mostly, it is the pressure regulator that perplexes me..... guess when I get it to the point or running I many understand its need. Hmmmm

Point is what you are seeing must be something someone has added, and can probably be done away with.

Or are you in another country, and this stuff left the factory with the tractor?
