Howdy,
Couple questions about my 8n
1. Will I be able to swivel/turn a 6ft. backblade without it hitting the wheels/tires?
2. Can I run a chain in place of or next to the top link to keep the blade from digging in to my gravel road? Or will adjusting the top link all the way up be enough to keep the blade a little off the ground?
Thanks , Dan

I use the limiter chains to control how far each side "digs", the leveler box is also useful in this respect. If you are really grading forget the limiters and just use the leveler box to get the "dig " you need.

The blade I have can be adjusted to pull or push dirtgravel, you yes you can "spin" it.

The toplink controls bite angle.. not drop level.

Yor 8n has position control.. use that to control depth.. or use limit chains..

I use a 6' blade on my N with no problems. I can turn the blade around without hitch as long as I have the no sway arms on it.

Got a 6 footer on my 2n. With the sway bars on I lower it to within an inch or so of the groud and I can rotate it. If you're thinkin about plowing snow with it some type of skid shoe system helps alot

I use a 6' King Kutter with sway bars on my 2N and can rotate it 360 degrees with no problems at all. I took a 2" by 6' metal pipe and had my cousin (who works in a truck shop)cut a 1/2" slot the entire length of the pipe. Now when I plow snow I just slip the pipe over the cutting edge of the blade. This allows me to push the snow without digging up my dirt driveway or tear up the grass when I push it back on the lawn.

hanks to all for the great advice re: backblades.
jeff2n had a clever idea to keep the blade from digging in but doesn"t the pipe get knocked off kinda easy?
