Backhoe Hydraulic Thumb

Well, I need some input on backhoe Thumbs, and the guys here know everything about this
subject!! LOL. I have a John Deere 310 SJ TC with an extenda hoe that I would like to put a
Hydraulic thumb on. I'm looking at using a 5 fingered thumb to match my 24in. bucket! But
Does anybody have any answers or information? like, will how well do they work? will it add
too much weight? any information will be appreciated! Jim in N.M.

That wide of a thumb may cause some interferance issues when using the hoe with the extenda hoe run out, or swinging to the side

I have a home made thumb. It is just wider than the dipper stick. That is wide enough.

I will be converting the thumb on my baby backhoe to hydraulic. It gets in the way digging and I get tired of taking it on and off.
