This backhoe looks to be a Ford 750. If it has the Detroit engine it's most likely a retrofit as they had Ford engines when new. The people overseas are very resourceful in making
their machines useful if something fails. I have sold machinery to Vietnam in the past and they are not worried about difficult repairs or swapping engines etc.

Definitely some type of retrofit. Has a Detroit and the loader looks like a whit/Oliver. I don t believe I will be able to find a parts catalog but hopefully find some resources on hydarolics, etc...

Hi Olnate
I just did a google image search on a few names like Pettibone/ Dynahoe it's not one of theirs, but a name of "Parsons" came up in the suggestions
links on the image page I looked at. That Machine used some Oliver/white tractor components. I found a picture of one on a smaller tractor with a 6
cylinder diesel. The front loader construction on that machine looks identical to this. Maybe that will help you search more.
Regards Robert

Thanks for looking into this Robert.
I agree that the loader looks like an Oliver/white.
Can't find a replica for the hoe portion.
I was hoping someone would say "my uncle had one like this"
Another reader said is was used in Vietnam for laying communication cable.
I am going through the machine right now fixing neglected items, will need to put to work before winter arrives in the upper midwest.

(quoted from post at 15:55:47 09/08/19) Maybe an Allis Chalmers??
The Allis Chalmers have a very similar look. I found online the Koehring parsons 166-15 manual and most of the systems seem to be the same with exception of the Detroit engine. I am speculating but the loader looks like a Oliver/white. The digging end of the hoe, no idea. I am kinda having fun making some repairs to this beast and trying to figure out it s history. I believe it might be fairly rare.

I have one nearly identical to this uh 18 serial 629 weight 13700 lbs it has a 3-53 motor ,borg warner shuttle shift transmission and a carraro rear axle.I just bought it a few weeks ago

The parsons co at present is broken up into a couple of different sections that have no remaining records of these machines. It is sad that such a awesome machine has no literature that i can find. I assume only a handfull of these were built.
