Backhoe Swing Bearing

I have a 220 backhoe on a MF202 tractor. The lower swing bearing wore out and fell apart. I found a cross reference and ordered it a while back. Finally got around to taking it apart and I'm having some difficulty in figuring out how to get the new bearing in the lower frame.
The bearing has a curved outer race which looks like it should fit nicely in the place the old one came from but the opening at the top is not wide enough to accept the new bearing. I bought the manual and went through it from cover to cover and although it provides a lot of useful information, there is nothing regarding replacing this bearing.

You got the wrong "spherical O.D. bearing".

The outer race and/or the seals are too wide to drop into the groove with the bearing at 90? to it's final orientation.

Consult a bearing catalog to find a bearing with the same O.D. and I.D., and a narrower outer race (or perhaps one with a different seal design would fit).

the two slots 180 degrees from each other allow the bearing to fit perpendicular in to the
housing (or upright) then twist (or roll)the bearing into the housing

Eureka!!! Thanks guys, I knew I was overlooking something. It fit right in when I used the proper procedure. Being self taught has many disadvantages..........although I won't forget this lesson.
