Backhoe transmission

Fellas,

I have a Parson's backhoe with a T98-1R 4 speed transmission. This is an odd ball backhoe.

I found a replacement with the same number above on the internet at a reasonable price. Would I be safe to assume I if I ordered it that the input shaft would be the same diameter and number of splines, length?

Not sure what the -1R designation that Borg Warner stamped on the unit.

Thanks for your help on this.
