Does anybody remember who made these? Kinda has a Vermeer look to it.

Yep, Vermeer, and also early Heston. We had a 5600 Heston that looked just like that, only painted red and white.

I know where there's a Badger forage harvester sitting. They used to be a Badger dealer, have quit farming, but it's still sitting there.

Used to be a Badger dealer several miles to the west of me. Took many years to clear his inventory out after he gave up the franchise. Used to be a MF chopper sitting NW of Ithaca for many years but have not been by there for quite some time.

Badger sold haybines, harvesters and wagons as well. They all could be had in Massey Ferguson as well because Badger was a subsidiary of Massey. I never knew it untill I started collecting farm equipment brochures and some of the early Badger ones had it printed on the back. Tom

Reminds me of a Massey baler that was same as a Vermeer model. I owned the Massey for a while, but it was not a great baler. Closed throat. Both model numbers escape me right now, but it was a manual tie with a sickle mower knife section to cut the twine. And the twine box sat above the PTO. Mine had all narrow belts, and made a 4x4 bale. Mark.

Yes Vermeer made them, same as 504C I believe. I still have mine but rarely used as backup now since got a Vermeer 5400 Rebel. The Badger did ok, but finicky with hay conditions and windrow size, must zig zag when starting a new bale.

I grew up just on the south of kaukauna (farm was right up to the city limit) and that was the home of Badger until some time in the 90's. Lots of badger equipment used here. Mainly forage wagons, manure spreaders, and blowers in addition to barn equipment.

We also had Fox just to the west in Appleton, Gruett in Potter, Miller in Saint Nazian, Huebner in Forest Junction, Gehl in West Bend, Meyer in Dorchester, H&S in Marshfield and probably a few other short lines I'm forgetting.

Could hardly swing a dead cat without ending up at another manufacturer within a short drive of home. Was rare to see a forage wagon with a tractor brand name on it. I never saw John Deere, Massey, new Holland forage wagons. Most were made local, and all brands I listed made them. Some still do. Badger was one of the more popular brands.
