badger ring drive bn2400 silo unloader problems

often gets stuck by door. chute does not always thru into door outward. this happens because is not equi distant. anyone know remedy or fix ?

Probably need to adjust the 3 cables it hangs on or level it by whatever means needed. Never was around a silo unloader. Friends had them and was up there with them saw them setting there. By all means don't be under it while doing any adjustments. Let it set on the feed or bottom of the silo. Might also need to change the cables depending on how rusty they are. Would suck to have a good working unloader crash to the bottom either while filling or any other time.

The guild wheel needs to run against the silo wall. It holds the unloader in the center of the silo. There is a measurement in the operator's manual for that. It's a good starting point. Is the silage making it out the door? If it's not the blower may need adjusted or checked for worn parts. Also check spout liner and chute for holes. The pressure wheel (tire opposite of auger with the heavy spring) needs to be the right distance out. Good luck, you are working with about a 50 year old machine.

Short answer is no. Dad fought with one of those for decades and never found a good permanent solution. There were many trips up the silo chute and many bad words said about that unloader.

It's a bad design. The blower outlet moves around the silo with the auger, and the way the chute is designed, it moves up and down in the opposite direction that it needs to. When the outlet gets pushed away from the door the chute needs to rise up, but the way it's designed, it lowers, misses the door, and leaves a pile. Then the unloader gets stuck on the pile next time around.

I think in the last few years, he put a Jamesway style chute on it. The chute was then separate from the torque arm and always aimed at the door. It was better but still not perfect and still got stuck if you pushed it too hard.

The key was you needed to let it down just enough that it could chew its way through the pile by the door each time around. Just take it easy and don't push it too hard.
