Baker Valve

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the Baker valve for a Power Lift and a Power Trol? Can the valve interchange between the two? If I install this on my late A to run a loader can I use the three point without changing anything? The valve I have is on a Power Lift and is a 950 model if I read it right. Also I want to set it up with a live pump. Any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks!

yes you can. I have a 70 with a baker valve I needed a extra to allow for a hyd bucket control

the valves i believe are the same. however if you add the john deere live hydraulic pump kit to your A and the Baker valve the system will not work properly. The baker valve relies on the oil coming from the pto pump on the tractor. When you put flow redirecting plate in (required for the live hydraulic unit to work) it blocks the incoming flow of oil for the baker valve. the two just aren't compatible.

I have infact tried this on a '48 A that I was trying to put a 3 point (801 deere hitch) on along with keeping easy use of the remote cylinder). my baker valve was incompatible with the deere live hydraulic pump. i couldn't extend the cylinder. the powr trol worked perfectly and the baker valve would only suck the cylinder in. i tried everything under the sun to make it work and it just wouldn't go.

I put the same baker valve on a 53 deere 50 and it worked perfectly. sold the tractor with it on there after a few years of use. it was a nice unit made switching from cultivating back to remote cylinder use a cinch. just wouldn't work with the lettered series live hydraulic kit

As you may know, the Baker Control and the Baker Multivalve are two different units. The Baker Control is used with the old Power Lift unit to convert it from only "up-down" to the equivalent of a Powr-Trol unit with intermediate stops available. The Control is contained within the Power Lift casting, except for the control lever which looks like a Powr-Trol lever.

The Baker Multivalve unit is designed to be used with a Powr-Trol unit, and is a separate casting placed between the pump and Powr-Trol valve case. They can be stacked, and are used to control remote hydraulic cylinders.

A B950-100 is a Baker Multivalve unit. They do not change the original action of the rock shaft or Powr-Trol.

My 1949 A had a live pump and a Baker valve for a loader. The Baker valve was mounted behind the power lift. I removed the baker valve and power lift and put on a Powr-Trol.

You have to feed the baker valve first--plum the live pump in the bottom of the baker and use the block off plate--I have one set up on a 52 A
