baler 268 a1002 nh auto stacker

We run a 268 and a 1000 bale wagon. Niether one is much to look at but they work pretty good. The 268 started to make banana bales but after replacing the springs on the hay dogs all was well again, can make a tight uniform bale. The 1002 we have has more welds on the pickup than an aircraft carrier but it still does a nice job of picking bales but makes kind of a tall tippy stack as they are only 2 bales wide as I beleve the 1002 is as well. We only do about 4 to 5 hundred squares a season though.

I had a 268 baler that worked like a charm, sold it last year for 1500. Went to a wire baler.

IMHO, don't start up any "new" SmSq baler without
going through the manual, tightening any loose chains, and verifying plunger knife clearances and all timing.

I've had a NH 1010 for a couple of years and love it. It too needs all loose chains snugged up to
avoid damaging sprockets.

One trouble spot with our NH 1010 is that when I unload singles over the side, I have to reverse the main table to drop a stack of 8 onto the elevated second table, a bale will sometimes fall over the end of the second table, hitting and slightly bending the front sideboard on the first table which changes the adjustment of the linkage on the main and second table controls. I am going
to add some height to the second table support
bracket to see if that will help this minor problem out.
