Baler belt lacing

Hello all, I need some guidance on clipper belt lacing. I am rehabing a NH 630. I pulled the belts off because the existing lacing was in pretty bad shape and belts were evidently different lengths. Got the old lacings off and was careful to make the belts all the same length and ends square. I believe I need #4.5-3 RHTX lacing but not sure what vice lacer model I need for that hook size. Any advice would be appreciated. This project is going to be DIY mostly because thats me. The belts I have are in decent shape and I believe will fit my need. I just don't see reference to the correct vice lacer for that hook size lacer. Thanks in advance.

The belts are 7 inch and I see vice lacers available in that width. Looking at the compatible lacing the wire size varies. It seems the "slots" ( for lack of a better term) in the bottom are different sizes. Those slots that the pin side of the lace go through and the pin on the lacer secures the lace from underneath. Not sure if the terms are correct? Thanks

Clipper makes what is called a roller lacer, instead of of jaws it has rollers that compress the laging into the belt, can be bought in several lenghts you can sometimes lace both ends of your belt at once and they are light and portable unlike a jaw lacer.

You're right in that they do make different lacers with different slot pitches for different lacing size. But there's really only once common size of vice-lacer, and they cover hook sizes #2 through #7. Larger lacing would require a more fancy lacing tool, not the vice ones. But because round baler belts are usually #4 or #5, the vice lacers work just fine.

Maybe make double sure you check the lacer packaging/instructions and see that it covers that range of sizes, but there'll will be a 99% chance it will.

Also, I think the 630 uses diamond-top belts, so make sure you skive the top cover off as required.

#4.5-3 RHTX is a 4.50" wide belt. If it's a 7" belt, most any 7" vice lacer will work. Like mentioned, they're made to work with all common hook sizes. They aren't specific to one exact lacing type.
