Banned words

Yep,one of those things you just have to grit your teeth and get past when somebody says it. lol

I am surprised that actually is not actually on the list since the actual word actually is actually used and actually overused so there fore it should actually be used on the actual list and that is the actually the actual truth. Actually check it out by actually listening to someone actually speak. And now, I am actually finished.

LOL

Are you guys so paranoid that you think Hannity or Limbaugh are going through your browser history or something? What's it like to be under the thumb of somebody who tells you what you can think, say, read, watch or listen too? Don't you ever long to have a mind of your own and see what else is out there?
Kinda proves what LSSU said about "fake news" doesn't it.

I would like to thank you for your response. Why not just thank you for your response? I do not want to bother you. Then do not bother me and we shall both be happy

I literally can?t believe literally didn?t make the list ? The List was most likely written buy a entitled abundant millennial?

"Fake news - Once upon a time, stories could be empirically disproved. Now "fake news" is any story you disagree with."

They just have too much time on their hands after the snow gets up to the second floor dorm windows.

They do it every year. Just a tradition that some folks get a little chuckle out of.
Tough crowd.

Yep,they do it every year. Doesn't take long for things to run off the rails some days.

Maybe we'll get lucky and somebody will report it to the moderator and she'll delete is because it links to such a radical website.

Seems to be a lot of banned words on This site. Half of my posts can't be posted. I am surprised that the banned words topic made it.

You should see the banned word list that was posted at work a few years back. I had to ask what the hell was wrong with the word cracker? I thought it was food, guess us crackers did not know we were one!

Ya,I was gonna copy and paste one whole category from 2010. Remember who was in office back then? One whole category contained his name about a dozen times and they were sick of hearing it. I didn't do it though because I don't know to this day if you can post his name on here.

Massive is way over used. The news people use it to describe anything large like a noise or a fire or perhaps an argument, all kinds of things that don't have an ounce of mass.

I think there are just some words that get so overused,it's time to buy a thesaurus.

I would like to see the word snowstorm used less. Ever notice how they never predict just snow? It is always called a storm. "chance of storm 80% for the overnight. Up to a half inch expected"

Ya,and let's go back to predicting the weather instead of the climate. As in NOAA Climate Prediction Center.

The list from 1977:

A call for return to normality in the meaning of words

New Dimension ? As in ?He?ll add a new dimension to the cabinet.? Means: ?I can?t explain why we?re hiring (appointing) him/her.

To Share ? As in ?I?d like to share this with you.? Means: ?Shut up and I will cram this down your throat whether you like it or not.?

Perfectly Candid ? Means: ?I have been caught lying and now I shall see how little of the truth I must tell.?

Active Possibility ? Means: ?There is no way we?re going to do what you ask.?

National Federal Word Bank ? The Unicorn Hunters request that President Carter establish this bank to counteract depletion of the audio impact of deflated words. The ?ultimate four letter words? would go into this bank with a five-year moratorium on their use. As a result of over use in newspapers, cinema, books, radio-TV and even some comic strips, no strong words are available when a man really needs one, as after hitting thumb with hammer.

Alternative Words ? in absence of above (1977 only): Balderdash, fap & drat, Godfrey Daniels, rapscallion, and montebank.

1977 RESTORATION: Good ? The return of ?good? to its former meaning. It no longer means anything important, having been replaced by ?super,? ?remarkable? and ?astounding.?

Thanks for posting that list. Always entertaining, I usually get to hear it on CBC radio but must have missed it this year. A word or two I'd like to hear less of, actually a phrase. "Yeah no". How many times has somebody started a sentence with those two words and I wonder if they are agreeing or disagreeing with what I just said? Its not a big deal but just kind of catches my attention every time I hear it lately as it does not make much sense.

I agree.

Weather forecasting has morphed into news, and, as a result, must be sensationalized.

Tell us what it's likely to do tomorrow and for the next few days and dispense with the weather "news."

One of the guys I worked with kid went there. He said it didn't happen every year, but at least twice they could climb out the second floor windows directly onto the snow. Had a tunnel out of the front door. I usually listen to WKAR out of MSU, and they go through the list every year.

One of the supervisors at work, whose desk I pass every day going to my locker, has a small sign saying "I am Silently Correcting your Grammar". I can relate. I have to work hard not to correct people when they tell me to "work safe", or that "the two-minute rule will keep me safe".

No. I will work safeLY, and MY USE of that rule will keep me safe.

Its funny how the left always starts throwing insults around when its a conservative but if I was gay or transviste or some other weird as- group you would be all accepting funny how much the left hates if you don't think like you do I'll I want is you out of my life quit telling how to think or talk or what to do with my money quit worrying about what other people do and just live your life as a free man

Funny how liberals minds work ain't it

Unreal the way some of these things ruin off the rails so quick. I wonder what the reaction would have been if I'd have linked to it through a different site? Seems like just because I linked to University of Michigan and they link to NPR it set of a crap storm of epic proportions.
