A neighbor used to chop a little straw and blow it in a little section over a part of his barn. I remember seeing him dirty from head to toe. He'd been up there pushing it around. I don't know if the blower was running or not. Either way, the dust would have killed me.

I worked at a greenhouse during the 80-90's and the boss had a farm with old crown vetch round bales. He had the local hay grinder come and grind it and put it into the cargo straight trucks to haul to town. Made sure I was sick that day. Was gonna use it as mulch ground cover.

Amish? I've seen wheels like that around the finger lakes area in N.Y.

Had an uncle who used to put straw up using an old McKee harvester. We.d set it up with the pipes at the barn and break open the bales and feed them through a third of a bale at a time. dusty and dirty if the wind was the wrong way, but it made nice bedding.

Mennonite usually can use tractor but no rubber tires. Amish would use horse with towed implement with an engine. Ithe blower would be powered by an engine on a cart likely if amish. It’s the same sort of folks though.

I have fixed so many tires lately I am beginning to think they have the right idea. Nothing like a flat to tempt you into using the Lord's name in vain.

these must be Mennonite! Amish would not use this kind of machinery. They pile them up and save them until they've run the tractor into the ground then put them back on so the tractor is more valuable when they put it out by the road!

They have the right idea until they drive them down a blacktop road or worse, a freshly blacktopped road. Makes it sound like you're driving on your mother's washboard!
