I previously posted the following message and many of the responses told me to use Bars Leak.

My next question: Which bars leak?

There are several products available and I was thinking either:

1111- Head Gasket Fix
or
1186- Liquid Aluminum Stop Leak

Here is my original post:

I recently reassembled my '44 H after a COMPLETE teardown and restoration. It was running fine except for some minor electrical and carburetor issues. Last week I ran it for about 10 minutes and shortly after, noticed that a slight oil leak from the oil pan (which previously leaked clear, clean oil) now leaked milky oil. I drained the oil pan to find what looked like chocolate milk indicating water in my oil. Upon removing the oil pan I discovered that a water droplet forms about every 70 seconds between the sleeve and the block on the #2 cylinder. My first thought (and hopefully I'm right) was that maybe the head gasket developed a leak and is expelling the water. The cylinder itself is dry inside. I'm praying that I don't have a cracked block.
Any thoughts?

most likely a crack in block. my experience with any of these sealants is they dont work. u using water or antifreeze in rad? would be more beneficial to just put some water in it and then run it then drain it and let it rust up naturally would do more than just using that sealant. then use the sealant with water. if your trying to stop an antifreeze leak it will not happen. thats my experience with leaks and sealants, other than teardown. but can try that first.

Don't laugh. Go to an old drugstore and ask for a product called water glass. It comes in about a quart jar. Costs about $30.00. I have used it in diesels with some good leaks it will seal them up for about 2 years. Most chain stores won't know what you are talking about. Why it is in drugstores is beyond me. I called an old store locally and asked for it and it was in stock. The same jar was there when the present owners bought it. I asked the owner what use they sold it for and he told me that was the first jar they had ever sold. He didn't know what it was used for until I called him.

Sodium silicate a.k.a. Liquid glass a.k.a. water glass. It is also used to preserve eggs and in brewing I think too. It works well.........

Be very careful if there is any possibility of coolant to oil leak. The glass particulates wreak havoc in oil. IIRC (maybe not) it is what they dumped in the cars in the cash for clunkers to toast the engines.

If I had a coolant leak in an engine which I had just done a complete rebuild on I wouldn"t settle for any kind of stopleak. I"d find the leak and fix it.
